Sugar Pine Mine Security Operation Creates Stand-Off Between Citizens and BLM

With a nod to my co-writer, David Risselada (who brought this to my attention but was too swamped to write about it himself for the moment), we head over to Oregon to see another stand-off developing between the Oregon Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Oath Keepers there. The situation is being referred to as the Sugar Pine Mine Operation.


“According to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), they recently found out about the mining operation around Galice Creek. Officials with the BLM said they served two notices to the miners that they were out of compliance.”

Oath Keepers have gotten involved and apparently, officials from BLM have spoken with the lawyers representing the miners. The Oath Keepers are there to ensure that the “due process” for the miners is not violated by the federal government. Of course, since we know that the federal government would never do that, one can only wonder why Oath Keepers are there, right? That’s “snark” for can we ever trust the federal government to do the right thing? It seems the answer to that question is RARELY, if EVER.

One website has posted a notice from 27 minutes ago regarding the situation. In it, it appears that – for now – BLM is not going to do anything to risk elevating the situation.


“Breaking official news from Galice – One of the mine owners has informed myself and the second owner by phone, that he has spoken to Sheriff Dave Daniel. Daniel stated that he has received many phone calls this morning from around the country. In turn, he has spoken to Medford BLM about the brewing situation at Galice, Oregon. BLM has assured him that they are not taking action at this time. In light of BLM’s long history of utilizing deceptive tactics and well known reputation for dishonesty, the mine site will continue to be secured. The owners request that all interested persons remain on standby.” Kirby Jackson (Galice Creek mining board)

Because of numerous situations that have occurred in the United States in recent days – not least of which is the Bundy ranch situation in Nevada that was in the news because it appears as a powder keg ready to explode – it is difficult to trust any intentions of the federal government.

That is a tragedy. Over the years, the feds have claimed that they own the water that falls from the sky, that they have the absolute rights to control where the water goes and who gets it. Beyond this, many state governments have followed suit by forbidden the collection of rain water in barrels, arguing that because of that, the rainwater doesn’t get where it’s supposed to go. This, of course, is a ludicrous argument because the very fact that civilization exists, along with homes, buildings, and roadways means that the rain doesn’t get where it’s “supposed” to go.

Other localities have made it illegal to have home gardens. People who own small farms with one or two cows have to jump through a ton of hoops in order to sell the raw milk.

The federal government under Obama has successfully shut down the last lead smelting plant in America and put the squeeze on coal miners. No more lead bullets and squeezing coal miners out and shutting down coal mines with more regulations does nothing to help the economy, those people directly involved, nor does it grant America greater energy freedom. It means we need to rely on foreign energy sources more. It means our economy continues to tank. It means more people are out of work.

America is fast-becoming a true Idiocracy because of all the regulations that the federal and state governments are heaping on citizens. At the same time, these same governments cannot be bothered with enforcing laws they don’t like, you know, like allowing thousands upon thousands of illegal aliens into the country, giving them welfare checks, driver’s licenses, and everything else.

So it is not surprising to anyone who’s been paying attention that the federal government is cracking down on people like Cliven Bundy are being hassled by the government. Now, the Sugar Pine Mine is being monitored by the BLM and the Oath Keepers have asked that no one else go to that area…for now.

This could change at any moment. One wonders what has happened to America? The answer is simple.

Like Judge Olu Stevens (whom I wrote about earlier today) who uses emotional virtue in his sentencing decisions, the federal government is regulating us to death with regulations also based on emotional virtue. Emotional virtue is Cultural Marxism and it is THE preferred way for Marxists to destroy capitalism. Once capitalism is destroyed, it can and will be replaced with something else. That something is socialism.

Another website notes the following regarding the situation:


“The constitutional watchdog group Oath Keepers of Josephine County have called on people from “all over the country” to help them protect constitutional rights of a mining operation near Galice that the Bureau of Land Management says is in violation of federal rules.

“A staging area has been set in the 2400 block of Camp Joy Road in Merlin, and as of late Tuesday morning a handful of people and trucks could be seen there.“

It’s important to understand that as of right now, the Oath Keepers are not involved in any sort of stand-off with BLM. They are there solely to ensure that the mine owner’s rights are not abrogated.

It is a sad time in America when the federal government has gotten so large that it can dictate willy nilly to American citizens. That was never the intended purpose of the federal government, which was originally created to protect and serve the individual states.

Instead, it has become something of an out-of-control behemoth that dictates to states and citizens while allowing non-citizens a free pass.

If things don’t change in this country – and rapidly – I can envision more of these situations.

Tomorrow, 23rd, Oath Keepers will escort Sugar Pine miners/lawyers to BLM in Medford to serve some sort of paperwork and have a peacefull rally - notice is for 1:00PST, so keep an eye on mainstream and alternative news sources for updates around 3:00pm EST.
